Onyx wallet review

its been months since the onyx wallet went live what are your take so far

Good day,

I’ve been actively providing feedback on Telegram to help improve the Onyx Wallet, and I’d like to share my experience so far.

What I’ve learned is that it’s important to take time to explore and understand each area of the wallet before moving assets around. Knowing how each feature functions makes a big difference. If something doesn’t work as expected, it’s best to report the issue so it can be corrected or clarified with proper guidance.

So far, I’ve successfully sent assets from Desktop to Mobile on both the Ethereum and Base networks without any issues. I’ve also been able to stake my full XCN balance, claim rewards, and restake them smoothly.

Regarding the Onyx Points Dashboard, the Staking History currently doesn’t display data (though I understand this is being worked on). The History, Swap, Farm, Governance, and Points tabs all show a green line with a spinning wheel at the top, which makes it seem like the page hasn’t fully loaded—this has already been reported.

There was previously an issue with voting, but it seems to have been resolved since my vote appeared in the last OIP. Under Transaction History, no data has populated yet, but I expect the next update will address that.

I also learned that spammers are sending fake USDC tokens that appear at the bottom of the wallet. I was advised not to interact with them, as they could be scams. Hopefully, these will be hidden from view in a future update. Similarly, if you see anything that looks enticing to click—especially links related to NFTs—avoid interacting with them, as they may compromise your assets.

Lastly, when I selected Bridge and the “Connect Wallet” prompt appeared, the Onyx Wallet icon didn’t respond. I’ve already reported this issue.

That wraps up my experience with the Onyx Wallet so far. Overall, I can see the effort being made, and I appreciate the continued improvements.

I’ve also tested Onyx Wallet and agree — smooth staking and transfers, but some tabs (History, Swap, Governance, etc.) still seem unfinished. The missing Staking History data and spam tokens are definitely things to watch out for. Hope the team fixes these soon — the wallet has big potential once these bugs are sorted.

Man the wallet is really really good. Personally im using it for all Onyx related transactions right now. Soon im planning to switch it into my main wallet. I really love it.

It will also be wonderful if we get access to connect with uniswap via onyx wallet *
